Simply Schedule Appointments News for November and December
50,000 Active Installs
Simply Schedule Appointments has reached an exciting milestone: 50,000 active installs on WordPress! Since launching in 2016, SSA has grown to include features like Google Calendar sync, payment integrations, team bookings, and more. This year, we rebuilt our booking and admin interfaces, paving the way for future improvements.
In 2024, our biggest achievement was launching the rebuilt booking and admin app interfaces. Although the change was subtle, behind the curtain, this was huge for us and will give us more flexibility for redesigns and more advanced features in the future.
This milestone means the world to us, and we’re so thankful for our amazing community of users who trust us to keep their website scheduling running smoothly.
Bug Fixes and Improvements
To wrap up the year, our development team has been hard at work tackling bugs and polishing up the plugin to make it more reliable and user-friendly. Here’s a quick highlight of what’s been improved:
- Improved booking logic: Fixing double bookings for edge cases and resource handling.
- Enhanced compatibility with third-party tools, including Gravity Wiz Product Configurator and BreakDance.
- Resolved critical issues like outdated PHP errors and timezone discrepancies
- Prepared for the final transition to the new booking app.
- Polished UI/UX with styling updates, responsive design, and improvements to CSS structure.
- Improved payment handling with Stripe.
And addressed PHP notices for WordPress 6.7 to ensure full compatibility.
Highlighting the Gravity Forms Integration
Simply Schedule Appointments integrates seamlessly with Gravity Forms, offering a powerful way to create enhanced booking forms. With this integration, you can embed appointment booking directly into your advanced Gravity Forms. Here are some highlights we love about the SSA + Gravity Form integration:
- Conditional logic to help users schedule the best Appointment Type
- Multi-page booking forms, when you have a lot of information to collect for the appointment
- A large variety of field types, for example, dropdowns, numbers, dates, file uploads, and so much more!
- SSA works seamlessly with Gravity Forms and compatible add-ons like Gravity Wiz, Stripe, and Zapier.

New Accessibility Legislation Coming Soon
At NSquared, accessibility has always been a priority. Simply Schedule Appointments is proud to be WCAG 2.2 AA compliant, ensuring inclusivity for all users. As new accessibility laws come into effect, here’s what you need to know:
- EU Accessibility Act (EAA)
- Effective Date: June 28, 2025 (for new products and services).
- Scope: Aims to make everyday products and services accessible to persons with disabilities across the EU.
- Coverage: Includes products like computers, smartphones, and ticketing machines, as well as services like banking, e-commerce, and transport information.
- ADA Title II Regulation Update
- Effective Date: 2-3 years from April 2024, depending on the population served.
- Scope: Applies to state and local government websites in the US
- Coverage: Institutions such as courts, schools, libraries, healthcare clinics, and public transit agencies must comply with WCAG 2.1 AA standards
