Two of the most frequently asked questions we get are about recurring bookings and booking multiple appointment types at once. Here’s everything you need to know about both.
Can I Set Up Recurring or Repeating Appointments?
Recurring or repeating bookings – where a customer books the same time slot on a repeating schedule (for example, every Tuesday at 10am, or the first Monday of each month) – can’t be set up through a single booking form to repeat automatically in the SSA plugin.
This is one of our most requested features, and it is high on our priority list. However, we can’t provide an ETA on when this feature will be implemented in the SSA plugin.
In the meantime, a straightforward option is to have your customers book each appointment separately. While this requires more steps upfront, it works well for clients booking a set number of sessions in advance (for example, a 6-week coaching program).
Can Customers Book Multiple Appointment Types at the Same Time?
Not currently. Appointment types in Simply Schedule Appointments are separate listings, and there’s no way to select or book more than one at a time within a single booking submission.
This is a feature request we’re tracking to release in the future, but we don’t have a planned ETA for it as yet. If this is something you need, let our support team know, and we’ll add your vote.
As a workaround, you can create additional appointment types that cover multiple services. For example, if a hair salon offers cutting and dyeing as separate appointment types, you could create a third “Cut & Dye” appointment type with a duration that covers both services.
